Featured Machine: Tadano Cranes
RTL Equipment has offered Tadano Cranes for years for a number of reasons-not the least of which is their solid history of manufacturing reliable, powerful machines. We're taking a look back to learn more about Tadano Cranes and how they came to be one of the most popular crane brands in the world.
History of Tadano Cranes
Tadano Limited is one of the top ten largest crane manufacturers in the world and got its start in Takamatsu, Japan. Founded by Masuo Tadano in 1919, Tadano began as a steel fabricator. However, in 1948, Tadano started to manufacture cargo handling equipment. By 1955, Tadano's first hydraulic truck crane was manufactured and five years later, exported their first crane. Tadano America Corporation (TAC) was established as the strategic base for North American sales in 1993. Since the early 2000s, Tadano has made a name for itself internationally and in 2008, acquired the US-based SpanDeck, now known as Tadano Mantis Corporation.
Tadano and Easter Island
In the early 1990s, Tadano worked with the Chilean Government to restore Ahu Tongariki. These are the well-known shrines on Easter Island. The project spanned five years and included work alongside esteemed archeologists. Tadano was trusted to help lift the statues and place them upright again after damage from war and tsunamis toppled them.
Types of Tadano Cranes
RTL Equipment is a proud distributor of Tadano Cranes because we know they're dependable, rugged machines. Whether your construction project is on or off-road, Tadano cranes boast proven safety features and reliability for you to get the job done right the first time.
All Terrain Cranes
Tadano all terrain cranes come with maximum lift capacities ranging from 75 to 660 tons and a maximum lift height of 200 to 482.1 feet, depending on the model. For instance, the ATF 79G-5 offers a 144' main boom, a two-engine configuration, and air conditioning available in both cabins to keep the operator comfortable. We all know that when the crane operator is comfortable, the job can get done faster. The largest all terrain crane offered by Tadano is the ATF 600G-8, which includes the revolutionary Triple-Boom System, eliminating the need for a boom suspension system. Additionally, the ATF-600G-8 has a shortened tail swing radius when compared to similarly sized models, which means it's able to fit in tighter work spaces.
Rough Terrain CranesRough Terrain Cranes
The rough terrain cranes from Tadano make it easier for operators to plan lifts by providing detailed information about operational status, work history, machine position, and more with HELLO-NET. This telematics system also helps plan maintenance and inspection schedules to keep your crane up and running. The GR-1600XL, for instance, also has optional heavy lifting and insert lattice jibs, which help you lift heavier loads higher.
