RTL Equipment at the Iowa Children's Open Golf Tournament
For several years, we've been proud to support the Iowa Children's Open Golf Tournament. This fundraiser helps raise money for the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital and Iowa Children's Museum.
Since it's such an excellent cause, we thought we'd share the history of the tournament and information on how to get involved!
Iowa Children's Open Golf Tournament Begins
As a three-sport champion from Iowa City West High, Nate Kaeding was well-known in Iowa as a former Hawkeye and NFL player. Nate saw the opportunity to get people involved in fundraising by combining it with sports. Four years after starting the Nate Kaeding Golf Tournament as a way to give back to cancer patients and their families, Nate Kaeding teamed up with the Iowa City/Coralville Area Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) to create what is now the Iowa Children's Open Golf Tournament.
RTL Equipment Teams Up with Iowa Children's Open
For the past ten years, RTL Equipment has been proud to sponsor the tournament, which has grown in stature each year since its formation. Since RTL's involvement, the tournament has raised approximately $1.5 million to benefit the Iowa Children's Hospital and Iowa Children's Museum.
How to Get Involved
Even if you don't golf, you can support the Iowa Children's Open. This year, the 2-day even tournament is held May 31st and June 1st, with the PAR-TEE taking place the evening of May 31st. Join us for dinner, drinks, music, games, and tournament awards. Plus, there will be a silent/live auction, where you'll have a chance to help support the University of Iowa Stead Family Children's Hospital and Iowa Children's Museum. It's just $35 per person to attend and for the third year in a row, local country artist, Jake McVey, will be involved. He will be performing a free concert for attendees after the PAR-TEE.
The event is co-hosted by Nate and his wife, Sam, along with Kirk and Mary Ferentz. For more information, head to the Iowa Children's Open Golf Tournament page, and learn how you can be a part of improving the lives of children and families in our community.
